I live in Chicago and want to go to Europe for the 1st time, London/Paris/Rome. Any travel tips or good deals?

I’d like to spend about 3 days in each city. I’ve heard that a hotel/air/train package from a travel agent is the least expensive way to do this. Any thoughts?

What can you tell me about Schaumburg, IL?

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

My husband may be getting a job transfer there. I’ve been to Chicago and LOVED it! Does the train go out to Schaumburg? If we wanted to live in the city how long would the commute take to Schaumburg from Chicago? I’m just more of a city person so i’m not sure if I’d want to live too far out in the burbs. Thanks for any input!

What are some things that teenagers can do in Chicago?

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

I live in the Chicago Area and it’s only a train ride away.
Four friends and I are all going downtown on Valentine’s Day.
Usually we just walk around but it’s only supposed to be 36 degrees so I’d rather have some things planned.
Now, here’s the tricky part. We’re all between 15 and 16 and none of us can drive yet, so we’re going to be taking Taxis. Keep in mind, we don’t have much money, but we’ll all have enough to get around and do things.
Two of my friends, both girls, like each other a lot and one of them is going to ask the other out right before we go, so what are some of the things we could do that will be fun, yet romantic for them? The romantic thing doesn’t matter so much, but since I’m planning the day, I’d like to add in something nice!

Chicago O’Hare Terminal Connections?

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

I have a job interview in Minnesota in January the company booked me on American to DFW then United to Chicago and back on American to Rochester. I’ve never been to O’Hare and was wondering how you connect between terminals. I know there is some kind of train but what about security? Do you have to go thru security to use it? What about walking, does that take to long? How big of a hassle will it be changing carriers? I’ve got about an hour between flights. Thanks for your help!

Your company is located in New York City and your job requires that you travel by air to many other major cities such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Denver, and Washington, DC. Your average round-trip airfare for the past year has been $465 with a standard deviation of $240. If for your next year’s planning budget you estimate your average air ticket between $395 and $550, what is the probability that the mean, , of your next 36 flights will fall in this range?

P($395 x $550) =

Renting a car in Chicago at age 20?

Monday, February 16th, 2009

I will be flying into O’Hare in early February to attend a friends graduation at Great Lakes Naval Training center for the US Navy. I would like be able to rent a car, but I am 20. Does anyone know, or have experience with this? Who will rent a car to me?
I do have a major credit card, so that will not be a problem.
