How can I locate a drivers license number on a previous license I had 3 years ago. in a different state?

During the first year of residing I was mugged and had my wallet stolen Unfortunately, this before I had the oportunity to obtain an IL drivers license. Living in Chicago I can use the train and have maid due with my passport.until recently
My California D.L. has since expired and need to request my previous driving records form the state of California. Unfortunately in order to obtain this information, I need my CA license number which was stolen.
Is there any way of finding out my expired drivers license number from a state in which I no longer live?
