the cards you purchase to get on the chicago el trains, can they be used on pace busses? or only on cta busses?

Depends. Only the multiple pass cards you buy at currency exchanges or at CTA offices can be used on a Pace bus. And even then, only the 30 day pass and the 30 day reduced fare pass can be used; the 7 day pass cannot.

Yes, but it depends on the card. You would have to get some kind of multi-pass.

There is a 30-day pass for $75 good on both CTA and PACE. Go to pacebus.com for information.
