I am travelling from chennai to chicago either by Air India or Lufthansa, stopping over at Mumbai or Franfurt?

Now, what exactly happens at these stop overs i.e. mumbai or frankfurt. Should i undergo security check all over again??
Should i check in the baggage again, or the airlines take care?? (Its a single airline that i would be banking)
Should i collect the boarding pass again for this flight that i will take at these cities??
How can i know which terminal it would be when i land in chicago??
Anything important that any of you guys can advise??? :-)

    No need to undergo it again. Cuz once should they do that that’s more than enough.

    Both Air India and Lufthansa fly to Chicago from those destinations. No they will not re check your baggage at each stop but they will re check your documentation and stuff.

    You are going to stop in Terminal 5 at O’Hare airport in Chicago because it is the only terminal with Immigration and Customs check
